Welcome to the web site of the Canada Research Chair on Built Heritage. The Chair is located in the School of Architecture within the Faculté de l’aménagement (Faculty of Environmental Design), Université de Montréal.
Under the leadership of the chairholder, Christina Cameron, the research program focuses on exploring the changing conception and perception of the notion of built heritage and the impacts of this evolution on conservation, development and governance.
The Chair is part of the federal programme of Canada Research Chairs and benefits like all other Chairs from support by its host, the Université de Montréal. The Faculty houses five disciplines including architecture, urban studies, landscape architecture, industrial design and interior design which offer professional programmes at the graduate level. The creation of the Canada Research Chair has given new impulse to the Faculty to pursue research and development in the field of built heritage. Students are encouraged to pursue research themes associated with the Chair.
