The 9th Montreal Round Table was held from 12 to 14 March 2014 on the theme Exploring the Cultural Value of Nature: a World Heritage Context. Some thirty experts in heritage conservation and related disciplines from Canada, Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States of America gathered to discuss how or if the World Heritage system can recognize the indissoluble bond between people and nature in large protected areas. The purpose of the meeting was to foster an exchange of research, experience and observations in order to clarify how the cultural value of nature might be better understood.
